It’s Okay Not To Be Okay is about an unusual romance between two people who, in the end, help one another to heal from emotional and psychological wounds. Moon Gang-tae (Kim Soo-hyun), is a caretaker working at a psychiatric ward who does not believe in love. He lost his parents at a very young age and carries a tremendous amount of pain in his heart and weight on his shoulders, as he has devoted his life to caring for his autistic older brother. He has no dreams for the future, but has accepted that things will always continue the way they are. Moon Gang-tae is strong, handsome, intelligent, empathetic, and patient, with so much to offer others. On the other hand, Go Moon-young, (Seo Ye-ji), is a children’s book writer who is antisocial and clueless about love. She has always had everything from her mother, a popular criminal mystery writer, and her father, a Korean Literature professor at a famous university. She is selfish, arrogant and rude, but still popular as a writer. She is completely indifferent to other people and their feelings. After meeting, life will change for both Moon Gang-tae and Go Moon-young in very positive ways.
