Devil Beside You (2005)

Devil Beside You (2005) [E mo zai shen bian] is a Taiwanese romantic comedy television drama directed by Lin He Long. It stars Mike He, Rainie Yang and Kingone Wang. The series is based on Japanese manga Akuma de Sourou, The Devil Does Exist, written by Mitsuba Takanashi. It was produced by Comic Ritz International Production with Chai Zhi Ping as producer. The series was first broadcast in Taiwan on free-to-air China Television (CTV) from June 26, 2005 through September 18, 2005 and on cable TV Eastern Television (ETTV).

Devil Beside You was originally a Japanese manga that was turned into a Taiwanese drama. The drama revolves around three students in a love triangle. Qi Yue (Rainie Yang) attempts to give the boy she likes, Shang Yuan Yi (Kingone Wang), a letter confessing that she has a crush on him. However the school “prince” Jiang Meng aka Ah Meng (Mike He) who is a bully, takes her letter of confession. Known for his devilish ways, Ah Meng always gets his way and he wants Qi Yue. Qi Yue soon realizes that Ah Meng may have a cruel exterior, but underneath he is kind and caring and she begins to break through his hard exterior and to falls for the devil. Unfortunately, their relationship may not be fated after all as they realize they are soon to be step-siblings.
