Personal Taste (2010) [Kaeinui Chwihyang] is also known as Personal Preference. It is a South Korean television series starring Son Ye-jin and Lee Min-ho. It is adapted from Lee Se-in’s 2007 novel of the same name about a furniture designer, Park Kae-in, who lives together with architect Jeon Jin-ho under the mistaken assumption that he’s gay. It aired on MBC from March 31, 2010 through May 20, 2010.

Personal Taste is the love story between quirky and insecure Park Kae-in (Ye-jin Son) and Jeon Jin-ho (Min-ho Lee). Park Kae-in is a furniture designer whose boyfriend, Han Chang-ryul (Ji-seok Kim) almost marries one of her friends, Kim In-hee (Ji-hye Wang), without her knowledge. Jeon Jin-ho (Lee Min-ho) is an architect who wants to win an architecture competition in which Han Chang-ryul is also competing. Jeon Jin-ho needs a modern hanok (traditional Korean home) named Sanggojae (Meaning: A place for mutual love) to win that competition, but he later finds out that Park Kae-in, who lives in the house, is the daughter of the professor who built the house. Gae-in is in financial trouble and she desperately needs a roommate so Jin-ho applies and moves into Sanggojae under the guise that he is gay. Their friendship deepens and begins to turn into something more, but there are so many issues to overcome before the two could ever get together; Kae-in still believes that Jin-ho is gay, Chang-ryul wants Kae-in back, In-hee also likes Jin-ho, Kae-in’s father returns, Kae-in’s discovers the truth about Jin-ho and why he moved into Sanggojae to begin with.
