Pretty Proofreader (2016) [Jimi ni Sugoi! Kōetsu Girl: Kouno Etsuko] is a Japanese television drama series based on the novel by Ayako Miyagi. It is directed by Sato Toya and Komuro Naoko and stars Satomi Ishihara and Suda Masaki. It aired on NTV from October 5, 2016 through December 7, 2016.
Etsuko Kouno takes a job as a proofreader, all the while aspiring to become an editor at her favorite fashion magazine.
Kouno Etsuko joins a publishing company with her sights set on becoming a fashion editor. However, she is assigned to what she considers to be the least glamorous department, proofreading, which examines and fixes errors in manuscripts. Dressed in flashy clothes, Etsuko goes beyond her proofreading work and actually talks to the writers in person and visits actual locations to verify facts. She tries to do each job assigned to her to perfection in hopes it will lead to a transfer to the fashion magazine editorial department. As she dedicates herself to her unique way of proofreading, she gradually realizes its allure.
