Xu Kai Cheng

Xu Kai Cheng was born on August 8, 1990 in Shanghai, China. He is a Chinese actor and a model. He made his acting debut in the 2013 television drama Queen of SOP II. He is an known for his roles in Moon River (2015) and The Lover’s Lies (2016), were he worked alongside Chinese actress, Xiyue Cao. He also had a main role in School Beauty’s Personal Bodyguard (2015) and supporting roles in The Love Knot: His Excellency’s First Love (2018) and in the web drama I Cannot Hug You. He had lead roles in the web drama I’m a Pet At Dali Temple (2018) and Well-Intended Love (2018-2019).

Xu Kai Cheng signed a contract with Ming Dao’s entertainment agency and made his acting debut in the television series The Queen of SOP 2. He went on to star in various supporting roles in numerous television series.

He first garnered recognition in 2017 for his role as a vampire in the fantasy web drama I Cannot Hug You.

In 2018 he starred in the fantasy romance drama Moonshine and Valentine as the second male lead. The success of this series introduced Xu Kai Cheng to wider audiences.

That same year, he played his first leading role in the historical comedy web series I’m a Pet at The Dali Temple.

In 2019, Xu Kai Cheng starred in the romantic comedy web drama Well-Intended Love. The series was a hit and it led to increased popularity and recognition for Xu. Well-Intended Love ran for a second season with a parallel universe theme. The same year, he starred as a fencer in the drama Boys To Men (2019).

At the Actor of China Award Ceremony in 2017, he won Outstanding Actor for his supporting role in I cannot Hug You or Untouchable (2017) and was nominated for Best Performance by an Actor-Internet Drama for the same television drama.

Xu Kai Cheng is a graduate of Shanghai Theatre Academy in Shanghai, China. He began studying ballet when he was 11 years old, and in 2007 he was admitted to the 7th Ballet Undergraduate Class at Shanghai Theatre Academy where he majored in ballet.

He is also bilingual, speaking both Mandarin and English.

Xu Kai Cheng is 6’1′ tall and he loves to dance, sing, play guitar and travel, and loves his pet cat. He stays in shape by working out at the gym. He goes by the nickname Xu Kai.
